Is Bob Dylan coming to your town in the near future?

If so, keep an eye out for a strange looking man walking through streets that are dead.

Dylan has apparently made it something of a ritual to take off on his own and amble around town, without hangers-on or bodyguard (Bob, PLEASE at least take your bodyguard with you!), as something of a pre-show warmup.

Especially when he’s in a town with some sort of musical heritage.

According this this article, Dylan’s recent dustup with a New Jersey policewoman who mistook him for a vagrant may have been a previously undisclosed attempt on his part to find the  house in Long Branch, New Jersey, where Bruce Springsteen lived in the early 1970s.

In recent years, Dylan has shown up at Neil Young’s boyhood home, and took a public tour of John Lennon’s.
